WATERVILLE — Eric Beaulieu had 19 points and 10 rebounds as Colby used an 8-5 advantage in overtime to edge the University of Maine-Farmington 66-63 Tuesday night in men’s basketball.
Beaulieu scored with 16 seconds left in regulation to tie it and Colby (6-11) started overtime with a 7-2 run.
Ben Foreman chipped in 11 points and six assists for Colby. Kevin Leary scored 19 for UM-Farmington (9-7).
PLYMOUTH STATE 72, USM 59: Petey Skevas had 15 points and five steals for the Panthers (6-10, 2-6 Little East), who used an 8-0 second-half run to take a 50-41 lead on the Huskies (7-10, 1-7) at Plymouth, N.H.
Jeremy Jackson had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Southern Maine.
BOWDOIN 73, BABSON 68: Will Hanley scored 23 points with 17 rebounds as the Polar Bears (12-5) defeated the Beavers (10-9) at Brunswick.
Bowdoin led 19-2 after 6:30, but Matt Palazini (34 points) made five of his eight 3-pointers and a late 21-5 run put Babson ahead 35-33 at halftime.
After trading baskets in the closing minutes, the Polar Bears pulled away by hitting 4 of 5 free throws in the final 24 seconds.
(1) KENTUCKY 57, GEORGIA 44: Darius Miller came off the bench to score 19 points and Kentucky (20-1, 6-0 SEC) cruised in its first game since returning to No. 1 in the rankings, beating host Georgia (10-10, 1-5).
(6) BAYLOR 77, OKLAHOMA 65: Perry Jones III had 21 points and 12 rebounds, Pierre Jackson added 16 points and the Bears (18-2, 5-2 Big 12) bounced back after their first two losses of the season to beat the Sooners (12-7, 2-5) at Norman, Okla.
(13) SAN DIEGO ST. 52, WYOMING 42: Jamaal Franklin had 12 points and 11 rebounds and the Aztecs (18-2, 4-0 Mountain West) extended their winning streak to 11 by beating the host Cowboys (16-4, 2-2).
(17) MARQUETTE 67, SOUTH FLORIDA 47: Darius Johnson-Odom scored 17 points to help the Golden Eagles (17-4, 6-2 Big East) beat the Bulls (12-9, 5-3) at Milwaukee.
(20) MICHIGAN 66, PURDUE 64: Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 19 points to help the Wolverines (16-5, 6-2 Big Ten) beat the Boilermakers (14-7, 4-4), at West Lafayette, Ind.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
USM 86, PLYMOUTH STATE 53: Haley Jordan and Courtney Cochran each had a double-double as the Huskies (14-4, 6-2 Little East) rolled past the Panthers (2-14, 0-8) at Plymouth, N.H.
Jordan had 25 points and 16 rebounds, and Cochran had 22 points and 11 boards.
BATES 66, ST. JOSEPH’S 62: The Bobcats (8-10) survived a second-half rally by the Monks (11-6) at Lewiston.
Meredith Kelly had 13 points and Allaina Murphy had 10 for Bates. The pair combined for 21 first-half points.
Ashley Geel scored 15 of her 20 points in the second half for the Monks, who scored six straight points to take a 58-57 led with 4:40 left.
St. Joseph’s had its seven-game win streak snapped.
COLBY 56, REGIS 52: Claire Ramonas scored 21 points with five rebounds, three steals and two blocks as the Mules (13-3) held off the Pride (12-4) at Waterville.
Regis made four late free throws to cut Colby’s lead to 54-52, and Jayde Bennett made two free throws after Regis turned it over with seven seconds left.
(11) RUTGERS 65, (23) DEPAUL 64: Khadijah Rushdan’s layup with 1.5 seconds left lifted the Scarlet Knights (17-3, 6-1 Big East) over the Blue Demons (15-6, 3-4), at Piscataway, N.J.
OKLAHOMA ST. 57, (14) TEXAS A&M 53: Tiffany Bias scored 14 points, including a tiebreaking layup with 28 seconds left, and the Cowgirls (12-4, 4-3 Big 12) beat a ranked opponent for the second time this season, knocking off the Aggies (13-5, 4-3) at Stillwater, Okla.
(20) GEORGETOWN 64, WEST VIRGINIA 54: Ta’Shauna “Sugar” Rodgers and Tia Magee both scored 17 points to lead the Hoyas (16-5, 5-3 Big East) over the host Mountaineers (14-6, 4-3).
MEN’S HOCKEY
BOWDOIN 7, USM 0: Robert Toczylowski had two goals and an assist and Tim Coffey had a goal and two assists to help the Polar Bears (11-4-2) beat the Huskies (6-7-4) at Brunswick.
Richard Nerland made 21 saves for the shutout.
