BIDDEFORD — Beth Suggs scored 19 points and collected 13 rebounds to pace the University of New England to a 78-64 win over Curry in a Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball game Monday night.

Kelly Paradis scored 15 of her 18 points in the first half and moved into fifth place on UNE’s career scoring list with 1,345 points. Kari Pelletier was 10 for 10 at the free-throw line and finished with 12 points and five steals.

UNE (13-3, 8-1 CCC) closed the first half with a 7-0 run for a 37-22 lead.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

UNE 73, CURRY 56: Charles Fenner scored 19 points and the Nor’easters (3-13, 3-6 Commonwealth Coast) made 11 3-pointers in a win over the Colonels (7-9, 5-4) at Biddeford.

Marcus Winn hit four 3-pointers and finished with 13 points. Alex Alsadi had 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
