WILBRAHAM, Mass. — On Saturday, the Hyde School wrestling team was on the road and picked up two victories.
In the first match, Hyde took on Northfield- Mount Hermon and suffered only two losses en route to a dominating 50-18 win. Standouts were middle weights Billy Martinez (132) and Andrew Martz (138) with major decision victories.
Alec Randall ( 145), Scott Georgaklis ( 152), Bemnet Banks (170) and Lukas Fischer (182) also wrestled to victories by pinfall.
Against the host WMA Titans, Martinez, Martz, Randall and Banks continued their winning ways, while senior James Schnatterly’ earned his win of the season. WMA capitalized on several Phoenix miscues, but Hyde managed to hold on for a 42-36 victory.
The Phoenix (7-6) will wrap the dual meet portion of the season this upcoming weekend at Avon- Old Farms School in Avon, Conn., in a quad meet with Worcester Academy, Lexington Christian Academy and the host Winged Beavers.
