Brunswick schools close early Wednesday
BRUNSWICK — Wednesday will be an early release day for Brunswick schools.
Students in ninth through 12th grades will be dismissed at noon. Sixth- through eighth- graders will be released at 12:15 p.m.
The school day for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will end at 1 p.m.
All teachers will be involved in professional development, according to a school department release.
Habitat affiliate to honor volunteers
BRUNSWICK — Habitat for Humanity / 7 Rivers Maine will honor volunteers at its 20th anniversary volunteer recognition Event “Celebrating Families,” which is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p. m. Sunday at the No. 10 Water restaurant in the Captain Daniel Stone Inn.
“ Habitat volunteers and their guests can expect to reminisce over the 20 year partnership between volunteers and families,” a Habitat release states. “All those invited will enjoy a variety of hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and door prizes.”

Knitting circle for local school starts Monday
TOPSHAM — Merrymeeting Adult Education’s Knitting Circle for a Cause course begins Monday. Participants will create knitted goods to be donated to local schools.
Registration for the eightweek course costs $51. Classes will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays. The class is open to all skill levels. For details, call 729-7323, extension 1, or go to merrymeeeting.org.
