ORONO – Dallis Joyner scored 10 points and the Stony Brook defense forced 22 turnovers in a 58-52 men’s basketball win over Maine on Saturday.
Leading 31-30 in the second half, Stony Brook (11-7, 6-1 America East Conference) went on an 8-0 run for a 39-30 lead with 11:12 remaining.
Justin Edwards and Xavier Pollard each scored 14 points for the Black Bears, who lost their fifth straight.
AMHERST 82, COLBY 64: David Waller scored Amherst’s first nine points on 3-point shots as the Lord Jeffs (15-2, 5-0) took a 12-2 lead on the way to a 44-31 halftime margin over Colby (5-11, 1-4) in Waterville.
EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 58, SOUTHERN MAINE 44: Nick Nedwick scored 10 of his 25 points during a pivotal 19-2 run in the final 10 minutes of the second half to deliver a win for Eastern Connecticut State (7-0, 14-1 LEC) over the Huskies (7-9, 1-6) in Gorham.
COLLEGE OF ST. JOSEPH 87, SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. 76: Dane Jobst scored 33 points as the Fighting Saints (16-3) beat Southern Maine Community College (8-12) in overtime at South Portland.
BOWDOIN 55, TRINITY 43: Andrew Madlinger scored 14 of his 18 points during the second half as the Polar Bears (11-5, 2-3 NESCAC) pulled away from a 22-21 halftime deficit against Trinity (10-8, 2-3) in Brunswick.
BATES 77, WESLEYAN 60: Mark Brust scored five of his 24 points during a 15-0 run that gave the Bobcats (10-6, 4-2 NESCAC) a 44-31 lead over Wesleyan (14-5, 3-3) with 11:51 remaining in Middletown, Conn.,
UNIV. OF NEW ENGLAND 70, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 69: Brian Jones’ free throw with 1:02 left in overtime, his only point of the game, was the difference as the University of New England (2-15, 2-6 CCC) edged the Golden Bears (5-10, 2-7) in Springfield, Mass.
ST. JOSEPH’S 83, JOHNSON & WALES 71: Zach O’Brien’s 3-pointer capped a 13-5 run as St. Joseph’s (11-4, 7-2 GNAC) pulled away from the Wildcats (5-11, 4-5) in Providence, R.I. O’Brien finished with 35 points.

CASTLETON STATE 3, UNE 2: Reid Lesswing scored with half a second remaining to lift the Spartans (14-3) over the Nor’easters (3-10-2) at Biddeford.
BOWDOIN 5, MIDDLEBURY 0: John McGinnis scored twice and Steve Messina made 21 saves as the Polar Bears (10-4-2, 8-2-2 NESCAC) blanked the Panthers (7-6-2, 6-4) at Brunswick.
Erik Olson, Harry Matheson and Connor Quinn also scored.
WILLIAMS 5, COLBY 4: The Ephs (10-2-4, 7-2-1) took a 4-2 lead on second-period goals by Craig Kitto and Cody Skinner and held off the Mules (3-13, 1-11) at Waterville.
USM 4, SKIDMORE 2: Ryan Seward had two goals and an assist for the Huskies (6-6-4, 4-4-2 ECAC East), who took a 2-0 lead and held off the Thoroughbreds (5-10-2, 4-6) at Gorham.

ST. JOSEPH’S 85, JOHNSON & WALES 49: Lindsay Moore scored 26 points with seven rebounds and Ashley Geel had 14 points and eight rebounds as the Monks (11-5, 5-0 Great Northeast) routed the Wildcats (7-11, 3-3) at Providence, R.I.
UNE 73, WESTERN NEW ENGLAND 42: Kelley Paradis scored 24 points and reached a milestone for the Nor’easters (12-3, 7-1 Commonwealth Coast) against the Golden Bears (6-10, 5-4) at Springfield, Mass.
Paradis moved into sixth in career scoring with 1,337 career points, four ahead of 1984 graduate Ruth Gagnon.

SOUTHERN MAINE 94, EASTERN CONN. 52: Courtney Cochran scored 16 points as the Huskies (13-4, 5-2 Little East) easily defeated the Warriors (6-11, 2-5) at Gorham.
