FALMOUTH – Alex Kurtz scored the tying and winning goals in the third period as Yarmouth rallied for a 7-6 win over Greely in a Western Class B boys’ hockey game Saturday night at Family Ice Center.

Greely (6-1-1) led 5-3 after two periods, but Marshall Brunelle scored 26 seconds into the third period for Yarmouth (4-3-1). Mitchel Donovan got his third goal of the game at 7:09 to restore the Rangers’ two-goal lead, but Yarmouth responded with short-handed goals by David Clemmer and Kurtz to tie the game.

Kurtz scored the winner with 3:52 remaining.

CHEVERUS 3, PORTLAND 2: Sterling Weatherbie reached a bouncing puck in the slot and scored the go-ahead goal for the Stags (4-2) with 5:38 remaining in a win over the Bulldogs (0-11) at Portland Ice Arena.

Cam McLain had a goal and an assist for the Stags, and Ryan Ruhlin had a goal and an assist for Portland.

BONNY EAGLE 3, MASSABESIC/OOB 2: Cameron Brown and Shane Plummer scored second-period goals to give the Scots (5-6) a 3-1 lead over the Mustangs (2-7-1) at Gorham.

Josh Bagley scored in the first period for Bonny Eagle.

A.J. Gass had a goal and an assist for Massabesic/OOB. Nick Vigue also scored and Kasey Parks made 30 saves.

GIRLS’ HOCKEY

GREELY 4, BRUNSWICK 1: Four players scored for the Rangers (12-2) against the Dragons (11-3-1) in a battle of the East’s top teams at Brunswick.

Shannon Donovan scored in the first period, and Ceci Hodgkins, Paige Tuller and Meg Finlay added second-period goals for the Rangers. Sarah Kurland had two assists.

Rachel Moroney scored a power-play goal with an assist from Suzannah Smith for Brunswick.

Emma Seymour made 15 saves for the win.

FALMOUTH 6, WINSLOW 1: Megan Fortier scored five goals to lead the Yachtsmen (16-0) past the Black Raiders (3-10-1) at Falmouth.

Monica Aaskov also scored for Falmouth. Jen Poulin scored for Winslow.

PORTLAND/DEERING 8, CHEVERUS 3: Raechel Allen had four goals and two assists to lead the Bulldogs (7-6) over the Stags (6-7) at Portland Ice Arena.

Drew Barry had two goals, and Kylie Dalbec and Lindsey Sneider also scored for Portland/Deering.

Katie Roy had three goals for Cheverus.

SCARBOROUGH 3, BIDDEFORD 1: Alyssa Hulst broke a 1-1 tie with 6:42 remaining to lift the Red Storm (10-3-1) past the Tigers (3-12-1) at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Kristina Block assisted on the winner and added an empty-net goal with eight seconds left.

Dalani Roy scored for the Tigers in the first period. Brenna Kent answered for the Red Storm in the second.

CAPE ELIZABETH/WAYNFLETE 9, GORHAM/BONNY EAGLE 4: Kathryn Clark and Gretchen Stevens each had two goals for Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (4-9-1) against Gor-ham/Bonny Eagle (1-13) at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

Lucy Crane had a goal and three assists for Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete.

FALMOUTH 60, WELLS 39: Matt Packard scored 20 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter as the Yachtsmen (13-0) used a 30-8 run to beat the Warriors (8-5) at Falmouth.

The Yachtsmen switched to a press defense in the fourth quarter after Wells outscored Falmouth 16-9 in the third quarter to go up 31-30. Dylan Stevens scored eight of his 14 points during the Wells run.

Matt Kingry added 11 points for Falmouth, and Jack Cooleen had four points, 14 rebounds and six assists.

Jake Moody chipped in 11 points for Wells.

FREEPORT 63, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 58: Mitch Loeman scored 26 points and the Falcons (2-10) used a fast start in each half to beat the Patriots (2-10) at Gray.

Josh Weirich had 15 points for Freeport, which led 23-14 after the first quarter and outscored the Patriots 17-10 in the third.

Will Schafer led the Patriots with 20 points. Jean Sedjiro added 15 and Austin Keenan had 14.

BOOTHBAY REGION 62, WINTHROP 35: Ben Dickinson had 15 points in the second half as the Seahawks (10-2) expanded a four-point lead over Winthrop (2-11) at Boothbay Harbor.

Dickinson finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 46, FREEPORT 41: Maria Valente scored seven of her 18 points in the fourth quarter, and the Patriots (6-6) overcame 36 turnovers to beat the Falcons (5-7) at Freeport.

Maggie Chaplin was also in double figures for Gray-New Gloucester with 12 points. Nina Davenport led Freeport with 11.

WELLS 47, FALMOUTH 43: Abby Moody hit a 3-pointer with less than three minutes remaining to give the Warriors (9-4) a 43-41 lead, and they held off the Yachtsmen (7-6) at Wells.

Alison Furness scored 12 of her 19 points in the second quarter as Wells used a 19-9 run to go up 29-20.

Falmouth pulled even with a 15-6 third-quarter run. Ally Hickey scored eight of her 12 points in the quarter.
