The Dr. Noel Paradise Memorial Swish-Out Childhood Cancer Challenge will be held Jan. 29 at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham. The three-on-three, coed, double-elimination tournament is open to adults 18 and older. The entry fee is $100 per team, with funds going to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. The event also will include a Junior Swish-Out, a 12-team tournament open to children in grades 6 to 8. The junior event is also three-on-three and coed. The cost is $75 per team. The Maine Softball Coaches Association and Frozen Ropes will host their annual coaches’ clinic on Feb. 11 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn. The clinic, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., covers hitting, catching, pitching, conditioning and new rules for high school softball. Advance registration is $40 for members and $50 for nonmembers.
