GORHAM – Cam Loiselle finished with two goals and an assist, Jordan Bathe also scored twice, and Garrett McDonald added a goal and two assists to lead Scarborough to a 6-0 win over Portland in a Class A boys’ hockey game Thursday at USM Arena.
Bathe opened the scoring early in the second period, starting a four-goal outburst.
The Red Storm (9-1-1) were 4 for 5 on the power play.
Portland fell to 0-10.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
FRYEBURG ACADEMY 44, SACOPEE VALLEY 22: Maggie McConkey and Skye Dole each had 11 points as the Raiders (5-7) beat the Hawks (3-7) in South Hiram.
Fryeburg broke away from a 6-6 tie with a 10-2 second quarter and extended the lead to 29-14 in the third quarter, aided by Emily Wilson’s two 3-pointers.
ISLESBORO 37, HYDE 11: Autumn Johnson finished with 19 points to lead the Eagles (4-9) over the Phoenix (0-10) at Islesboro.
Jailene Martinez and Kathryn Comeaux led Hyde with six and five points, respectively.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
BOOTHBAY 55, MON-MOUTH ACADEMY 26: Ben Dickinson scored eight points in the first quarter as the Seahawks (9-2) opened with an 18-4 run against the Mustangs (2-9) at Boothbay Harbor.
Dickinson finished with 12 points.
RICHMOND 44, VALLEY 39: Kade Strout’s reverse layup with 16 seconds left in overtime gave the Bobcats (4-8) a 40-39 lead, and they added four free throws in the closing seconds to beat the Cavaliers (8-3) at Richmond.
Richmond tied the game 37-37 on Brian Snedeker’s free throw with one second left in regulation.
Randy Moody led the Bobcats with 16 points; Ben Carver scored 10. Caleb Wade had 15 and Josh West scored 12 for Valley.
