TOPSHAM — Icy road conditions Wednesday morning kept area police busy responding to minor crashes.
Topsham police received three reports within 10 minutes of vehicles sliding off the Interstate 295 southbound off-ramp to Route 196. At 5:55 a.m., a GMC pickup truck slid off the ramp, was not damaged, and was pulled out by an American Automobile Association (AAA) wrecker.
At 6 a.m. a second vehicle slid off the same ramp, and at 6:04 a.m., a Toyota RAV4 slid off, also with no damage. An AAA wrecker pulled that vehicle back onto the roadway.

They were traveling south on Route 1 in the Witch Spring Area when Brewer lost control of the vehicle, which slid into ledges.
The men suffered minor injuries, but did not require hospitalization, according to Strout.

Candice Tremblay, 24, of 35 Main St., Lisbon Falls, was driving a 2001 Nissan four-door vehicle in the area of 745 Main St., Bowdoin, when the vehicle slid on snow in the road, got caught up in the shoulder area and went off the road, striking a Central Maine Power pole and breaking it, Strout said. Bowdoinham and Richmond fire departments, Bowdoin EMS and Lisbon Ambulance responded, but Strout had no information on whether Tremblay required treatment.
At 10: 24 a. m. Tuesday, a vehicle slid off River Road in Bowdoinham, but the vehicle sustained no damage.
On Tuesday morning, Topsham police responded to two slide-offs on Route 201, one at 6:50 a.m. and the second at 7:20 a.m. Neither caused significant damage, according to Strout. The driver involved in the second incident complained of back pain, but did not require hospitalization, he said.
