BATH — The Bath Garden Club will meet next at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 1100 Washington St.
Following a time for socializing, the meeting will begin at noon. At 12:30 p.m., Amy Witt, a horticulturist for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, will give a program titled “Gardening is for Birds and other wildlife too!”
Witt will share suggestions for easy ways to make gardens inviting to birds and welcome wildlife.
The club’s Dec. 13 holiday coffee at the home of Laurel Harris “was very festive and enjoyed by all members,” according to a release from the club. “New members were welcomed and each received a long-stemmed rose.”
The club welcomed 12 new members in 2011.
During the Dec. 13 meeting, a collection for the Bath Food Bank resulted in a $750 contribution.
Members are reminded of the parking restrictions as the food truck will be in the church parking lot on Tuesday. “ Please carpool and if possible park in front of the church,” the release states. “Guests are always welcome.”

It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
