BATH — A 32-year-old Brunswick man was stabbed Friday night during a fight with his cousin at their grandmother’s home on Office Drive.
The man allegedly arrived at the house just after 11:30 a.m. Friday. Reportedly wielding a bat, he accused his cousin, a 41-year-old Bath man, of stealing “ a large amount” of money, Bath Police Lt. Stan Cielinski said Tuesday.
“The cousin tried to hold the door shut and defend himself,” but before the melee ended, the Brunswick man sustained a “serious but not life-threatening” stab wound to a local hospital. His condition was not available at press time.
The case remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed, so police have not yet released the names of those involved.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
