WHALE NOTES: Connecticut’s six-game losing streak began Jan. 2 with the Pirates’ 5-4 overtime win. During that streak, Connecticut has scored 13 goals and allowed 24. Rookie left wing Aaron Voros has scored a goal in each of his last two games. Centers Jonathan Audy-Marchessault and Kelsey Tessier have each scored two goals against the Pirates this season.

PIRATES NOTES: With goalie Curtis McElhinney out with an injury, Justin Pogge is expected to make his fourth start in the last five games for the Pirates. After a four-game absence, defenseman Nathan Oystrick, who has two goals against the Whale this season, is expected to return to the lineup. Rookie forward Jordan Szwarz has a three-game points streak, while veteran forward Ryan Holweg has three assists in his last three games.
