AUGUSTA — Maine Media Women, a statewide organization of communications professionals, offers a $ 1,000 scholarship to a Maine woman who is due to graduate from high school this year.
“The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support young Maine women who wish to go into any field of communications media,” a release from the organization states.
Applicants must be high school seniors and residents of Maine. Application details are available at www.Maine- MediaWomen.org or by calling Carol Jaeger at 563-8377.
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2012. The winner of the Maine Media Women Scholarship will be announced in May. The cash award will be made at the end of the winner’s freshman year.
The winner will be required to establish the completion of their first year at the college and to provide their grades. Also required will be documentation that the applicant has registered to continue in communication media studies for the following year.
