FREEPORT — Freeport Community Library will host “Solar for the Homeowner,” a free presentation by ReVision Energy, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 10 Library Drive.
The program will cover how solar hot water and solar electric energy systems work. “You’ll learn the answers to questions like: How much will a system cost? Is my home a good site for solar? How reliable are these systems? Can I really expect a return on investment since I live in Maine?,” a library release states.
In addition to installing solar systems at private residences throughout Maine and New Hampshire, ReVision Energy has installed solar energy systems for dozens of nonprofit groups and municipalities, including a 10- kw grid-tied array installed in 2010 for the Freeport Community Library.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
