TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team split two recent games.
The Eagles lost to Messalonskee 57-26 with quarterly breaks of 11-5, 28-11 and 41-17.
Leading scorers for Mt. Ararat were Kim Emerson with seven points and Allison Melcher with six. Olivia Swan played well defensively with six blocked shots.
At the foul line Mt. Ararat was five of six and Messalonskee 10 of 17.
On Tuesday, Mt. Ararat turned back Hampden 45-33 despite trailing 17-10 and 25-23 after the first two quarters.
Lyndsey Cornelison scored 12 points, Melcher nine and Emerson seven. Rebecca Schuman and Christine Levesque also played well in the win.
At the line, the 4-5 Eagles were four of nine and Hampden six of 12.
Mt. Ararat travels to Brewer today.
