TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School girls basketball team hosted Bath on Wednesday.
The Bath seventh-graders led 4-1,14-12 and 23-22 at the quarter breaks, but Mt. Ararat prevailed 29-25.
Sierra Wallace led all scorers with seven points, while Ann Tolan and Noa Sreden had six each and Amanda Gagne four. Hope Faulkingham was also an offensive contributor. “The team had solid defense, we just couldn’t buy a basket in the final quarter,” said Bath coach Donald Wallace.
Nikki Bradstreet was the high scorer for Mt. Ararat with 15 and Katelyn Cox had four, while Anna Manuel, Mikala Dwelley, Karley McCourt, Sabrina Paetow, Kate Guerin and Emily Giggey wrere offensive contributors.
The Bath eighth- graders poured in 19 first- quarter points, led 28-16 at the half and prevailed 38-25. Bath held quarterly leads of 19-7, 28-16 and 34-20.
Olympia Serban led Bath ( 4- 2) with 12 points, while Signe Ostergaard had eight, Isabelle Paulus five, and Emma Rossetti four. Madison Savary, Ali Gagnon, Megan Curtis and Madeleine Baker were offensive contributors.
Erin Tome paced the host Eagles with 10 points, while Sara Lamb had eight and Bre Hamilton four.
Serban had eight rebounds and Rossetti seven, while Ostergaard had six assists.
