Award-winning Brunswick author Carla Maria Sullwold is scheduled to discuss and autograph copies of her latest book, “Raising Rufus: A Maine Love Story,” at 7 p.m. today at Curtis Memorial Library.
The event, sponsored by Curtis Friends, is free and open to the public.
“‘Raising Rufus,’ Sullwold’s second work of fiction, is a tender and tragic love story about an older couple, their Newfoundland dog, and their passion for the coast of Maine,” a Curtis Friends release states. “Written after the sudden death of the author’s husband of 40 years, this poignant, semi-autobiographical novel will speak to anyone who has ever loved and lost a soul mate, to readers who cherish the bond between man and dog, and to all those captivated by Maine’s rugged beauty.”
The event will take place at 7 p.m. today in the library’s Morrell Meeting Room. Free refreshments will be provided, and copies of Sullwold’s book will be available for purchase and signing.
