AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference has released its weekly category leaders in girls high school basketball.
Mt. Ararat, which stands at 7-2, is well represented.
Mallory Nelson is sixth in scoring average with 9.6 points a game, followed closely by teammate Leah Hitchcock with 9.5 points. Edward Little’s Ashlee Arnold leads the way with 14.1 points a contest.
In rebounding, Josie Lee of Cony is tops with 11.9 caroms per game. Hitchcock is third (10.0), while teammates Nelson (8.4) and Caitlin LaFountain (5.5) are fifth and eighth, respectively.
Eagles’ guard Chelsea Crawford is fifth in free-throw percentage (74 percent), while LaFountain and Nelson are tied for ninth at 60 percent each.
In team statistics, Mt. Ararat leads the KVAC in points allowed at just 35.4 a contest, and stands third in scoring (47.3).
Brunswick is fourth in average points allowed (42.2) and sixth in scoring (40.1).
