WISCASSET — Jason Weatherbee and Caleb Bryant combined on 24 points in the paint as the Wiscasset High School boys basketball team rolled to a 59-34 Mountain Valley Conference win over Monmouth on Monday.
Weatherbee matched teammate Devin Grover with a game-high 14 points, while Bryant added 10 points and nine rebounds. Grover picked up three steals and Jordan Jones dished out five assists.
Brandon Goff paced 2- 6 Monmouth with 13 points, while Billy Cummings added six points. The Mustangs finished six of 19 from the foul line.
“We didn’t play as clean a game as we did on Friday at Hall-Dale (a 70-66 overtime loss), but we did a good job inside in getting position,” said Wiscasset ( 3- 5) coach Dana Lawrence, whose team was 11 of 14 at the line.
Wiscasset visits Winthrop on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The host Bulldogs used a 23-10 scoring advantage in the third quarter to pull away for an MVC victory over the 1-8 Greyhounds.
Lisbon trailed 7- 4 after a quarter before taking a 20-19 lead late in the second. Madison scored at the buzzer to go ahead 21-20 at the break and led 30-28 midway through the third quarter.
“We went nearly four minutes without scoring and they got hot,” said Lisbon coach Eric Hall, whose team trailed 44-30 through 24 minutes.
Tucker Brannon led Lisbon, which visits Mountain Valley on Thursday (7 p.m.), with 15 points. Mason Haley had eight points and dished out three assists. The Greyhounds were 12 of 23 at the charity stripe.
Austin Kane had a gamehigh 23 points for Madison (4- 4). M. J. Flanders added 11 points, and the Bulldogs were 13 of 28 at the line.

At Bath, Chris Moulton scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Class D Phoenix rolled to a victory over the Class C Hawks.
Hyde (6-0) jumped out to a 19-4 lead in the first quarter, led 28-16 at the half and 53-23 through 24 minutes.
Warsame Mohamed added 14 points for Hyde, while Tyquan Ekejiuba had 10 points, 10 steals and eight assists.
Mike Anderson paced 3-6 Sacopee Valley with 13 points, with Jeff Taylor adding 10.
Hyde is slated to visit Waynflete on Thursday at 7 p.m.
