SACO — Garrett McDonald notched a hat trick Monday night as Scarborough remained unbeaten with a 5-2 boys’ hockey victory over Falmouth at MHG Arena.
The Red Storm (7-0-1) took a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by McDonald and Jack Rouselle.
Falmouth’s Chris Samaris got the lone goal of the second period, but Scarborough extended its lead to 4-1 on power-play goals by McDonald and Cam Brochu in the first nine minutes of the third.
McDonald added an empty-net goal with 44 seconds left.
Falmouth is 4-2.
GREELY 4, YORK 0: Kenny Richards scored one goal and set up another as the Rangers (5-0-1) beat the Wildcats (2-2-2) at Dover, N.H.
Kyle Megathlin and Ben Hackett also scored, and freshman John Wright got his first goal. Kyle Kramlich made 14 saves for the shutout.
GIRLS’ HOCKEY
BRUNSWICK 5, LEAVITT/EDWARD LITTLE 3: Eliza Brooks scored three goals for the Dragons (9-2-1) in a win over the Red Hornets (6-5) at Watson Arena.
Brunswick took a 3-0 lead in the first period. Leavitt/Edward Little answered with three goals in the second, but Brooks completed her hat trick at 8:54 of the second to keep the Dragons in front.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
NYA 54, BUCKFIELD 49: Asad Dahia scored 28 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made six steals as the Panthers (2-6) rallied past the Bucks (1-7) at Yarmouth.
Dahia scored 13 of NYA’s 15 points in the fourth quarter. He turned two steals into layups, including the go-ahead basket with 2:10 remaining.
Burke Paxton added 11 points, 12 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals.
BOOTHBAY 45, ST. DOM’S 43: Freshman John Hepburn scored 21 points to help the Seahawks (8-1) edge the Saints (3-5) at Boothbay Harbor.
HYDE 64, SACOPEE VALLEY 32: Chris Moulton had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Hyde (6-0) in a victory over Sacopee Valley (3-6) at Bath.
Tyquan Ekejiuban finished with 10 points, eight assists and 10 steals for Hyde, which opened the game with a 19-4 run sparked by Moulton and Warsame Mohamed (14 points).
Mike Anderson had 13 points for Sacopee.
WISCASSET 59, MONMOUTH 34: Devin Grover and Jason Weatherby each scored 14 points, and the Wolverines (3-5) jumped out to a 16-3 lead en route to a win over the Mustangs (2-5) at Wiscasset.
Caleb Bryant added 10 points and nine rebounds.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
NYA 57, BUCKFIELD 30: Morgan Scully scored 21 points in the third quarter to help the Panthers (4-4) pull away from the Bucks (2-7) at Buckfield.
Scully was 5 for 5 from 3-point range in the third quarter. She finished with seven 3-pointers and 27 points.
Chloe Leishman added 12 points, and Mallory Ianno had 12 rebounds and five assists.
