BATH — The Midcoast Green Collaborative will hold two free home energy clinics in January, with the first scheduled for Wednesday at Patten Free Library.
Presenters Paul Kando and Topher Belknap, energy auditors at the Midcoast Green Collaborative, will discuss how to permanently reduce heating bills, “ preferably without breaking the bank yet reducing Maine’s oil dependency in the bargain,” according to a release.
Topics to be covered include “Things we all must understand: The basic science of a house and its indoor climate; things we all should know about: Five ways developed by international research to reduce heating energy bills by up to 90 percent; and how these five ways apply to our existing homes.”
The Midcoast Green Collaborative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational association of area citizens “dedicated to the premise that properly addressing oil dependency and climate change is an economic opportunity,” a release from the organization states. Plans are to offer similar workshops throughout the Mid-coast region.
The second workshop is scheduled for Jan. 25 in Rockport.
Wednesday’s workshop will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7: 30 p. m. at Patten Free Library. Admission is free but tax-deductible donations are welcome.
