BATH — January’s theme at the Dreamland Theater at the Winter Street Center, 880 Washington St., is “Foreign Flicks.”
Dreamland will screen the 1988 Italian film “Cinema Paradiso” on Thursday and the 2007 French film “La Vie en Rose (2007) on Jan. 26.
“In ‘ Cinema Paradiso,’ a famous film director returns home to his Sicilian village after almost 30 years, remembering his childhood at the cinema where Alfredo, the projectionist, instilled a love of movies,” a Dreamland Theater release states. “A wonderful celebration of youth, friendship, loss, and the eternal magic of film, this 1988 Italian- French production won the Academy Award for best foreign language film.”
Dreamland is a film series presented on the second and fourth Thursday of each month from September through May. Feature films start at 7 p.m., preceded by shorts, serials or cartoons at 6 p.m. The suggested donation is $5.
Soft drinks, popcorn and candies are available at $ 1 each. Those who attend are invited to bring a box supper.
