BATH — Hyde School will hold a five-day singer-songwriter workshop in late January designed for students interested in perfecting their musical craft in writing, producing or singing.
Songwriter and producer Don Cook will lead the workshop, scheduled for Jan. 23 to 28.
Qualified students from Hyde campuses in Bath and Woodstock, Conn., as well as from local public high schools are eligible to attend, according to a release from the school.
Participants “need to be in strong academic standing, have a passion for music with relevant experience and course work, as well as instrumental proficiency.”
Participants will have the opportunity to showcase the music they produce during the five-day period at a local venue. Later in 2012, some Hyde School students will travel to Nashville to write and professionally record their own music.
