BRUNSWICK — Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine (SASSMM), which plans to start an experiential based support group in 2012, seeks six to eight women “who have done some previous healing work and are interesting in expanding their personal process and moving forward in their healing journey,” according to a SASSMM release.
“ This group aims to promote personal awareness, growth and healing through a series of activity-based group sessions,” the release states. “Activities may include but are not limited to self-care, journaling, expressive arts, yoga, nutrition and wellness.”
Participation in the support group is free and will take place in the Brunswick area. Individuals must attend a pregroup screening interview prior to the start of the group.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
