SACO – Defenseman Joe Cronin scored on a one-timer from the slot with 48 seconds left in overtime Saturday to give Scarborough a 3-2 victory against Gorham in a schoolboy hockey game.
Garrett McDonald and Trevor Murray also scored for Scarborough (6-0-1). Chris Hardy scored twice and Justin Broy made 45 saves for Gorham (3-4).
KENNEBUNK 7, PORTLAND 1: Tyler Fowles had two goals and two assists, and Ned Richard had two goals and an assist for the Rams (4-2) against the Bulldogs (0-7) at Biddeford.
Charlie Merry also scored twice and Jack Kennedy had two assists.
MT. ARARAT/LISBON 8, WINDHAM/SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Eric Stuckey and Justin Grant each scored twice for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon (3-3) against Windham/Sacopee Valley (0-8) at Gorham.
Jeremy Williams had a goal and three assists, and Tyler O’Connor and Zach Pratt each had a goal and an assist.
YARMOUTH 8, MASSABESIC/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 0: Marshall Brunelle and Kevin Haley scored two goals each, and Max Watson, Eamon Costello, Mark Brown and Alex Kurtz also scored as the Clippers (3-2-1) defeated the Mustangs (1-5) at Saco.
Kurtz also had a pair of assists to help him pass 100 points for his career.
SOUTH PORTLAND 6, NOBLE/WELLS 4: Andrew Whipple had a hat trick, and Nick Whitten added two goals and an assist to lead South Portland (3-4) past Noble/Wells (0-6) at Portland.
The Red Riots took a 4-2 lead in the first period. Shane DeSantis pulled Noble/Wells within one in the second, but Whipple and Whitten put it away with goals in the first nine minutes of the third.
FALMOUTH 7, WATERVILLE 0: Mitch Tapley had a goal and two assists to lead the Yachtsmen (4-1) past the Purple Panthers (1-7) at Falmouth.
Cam Bell and Brandon Tuttle each added a goal and an assist.
BONNY EAGLE 6, WESTBROOK 3: Shane Plummer had two goals and two assists, and Josh Bagley and Jason Harmon each had two goals and an assist as the Scots (3-4) downed the Blue Blazes (2-5) at Gorham.
Mike Kelley, Jake Payne and Alex Benson scored for Westbrook.
GIRLS’ HOCKEY
YORK 2, BIDDEFORD 0: Carolyn Lee and Caroline Hurd scored to lead York (8-1-2) over Biddeford (3-8-1) at Rochester, N.H.
Emily Brassley finished with 36 saves for Biddeford. Olivia Drew needed 11 saves to earn the shutout.
FALMOUTH 8, PORTLAND/DEERING 4: Megan Fortier had five goals and an assist to lead visiting Falmouth (11-0) past Portland/Deering (6-4).
Lucy Meyer added a goal and three assists for the Yachtsmen, who took a 4-2 lead in the first period.
LEAVITT/EDWARD LITTLE 6, YARMOUTH/FREEPORT 3: Kayla Royer scored two goals in the second period and Danica Nadeau added three in the third as Leavitt/Edward Little (6-4) opened a 6-1 lead against Yarmouth/Freeport (3-8) at Auburn.
Sabrina Lapointe added a goal and an assist for Leavitt/Edward Little.
GREELY 5, BRUNSWICK 1: The Rangers (9-2) built a 3-0 lead in the first period and went on to beat the Dragons (9-2) at Falmouth.
Shannon Donovan led the Rangers with a goal and two assists.
Halley Taylor and Meg Finlay each had a goal and an assist, and Etta Copenhagen had two assists.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
TRAIP ACADEMY 54, SACOPEE VALLEY 29: Matt Clifford scored 15 points and Atencio Martin added 13 to lead Traip Academy (3-4) to victory over the Hawks (3-5) in South Hiram.
Martin had eight points in the second half as the Rangers outscored Sacopee 31-13.
A.R. GOULD 47, NORTH HAVEN 43: Zacharia Mohamed outscored North Haven (4-3) 4-0 over the final 2:30 to give the Bears (5-1) a victory at South Portland.
HYDE 61, SEACOAST CHRISTIAN 18: Warsame Mohamed had 12 points and Jonah Alexander chipped in 11 as the Phoenix (5-0) defeated the Guardians (1-5) at Bath.
WELLS 56, LAKE REGION 40: Jake Moody scored 27 points and the Warriors (5-3) took control in the second quarter against the Lakers (2-6) at Naples.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 61, KENTS HILL 23: Christina Coleman scored her 18 points in the second half as the Seagulls (3-4) finished on a 42-8 run against the Huskies (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.
PINE TREE ACADEMY 42, ACADIA CHRISTIAN 13: Allison Verrill and Gentille Sandy each had nine points as the Breakers (2-5) beat the Seahawks (0-4) at Freeport.
POLAND 43, CAPE ELIZABETH 34: Michaella Arsenault had nine points and eight rebounds in the second half as the Knights (2-6) raced away from a 16-15 halftime deficit to defeat Cape Elizabeth (2-6) at Poland.
