Martin Luther King observance
The second annual observance of Martin Luther King Day will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, at the gazebo in front of Gorham Municipal Center, 75 South St.
Peg Marchand of Gorham will speak on the topic “Human Compassion.” The program includes singing and bell ringing.
Non-perishable food items will also be collected for the Gorham Food Pantry.

Gorham Recreation Department has tickets available for the Maine Red Claws basketball game at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at the Portland Expo on Park Avenue in Portland.
The Red Claws will play the Idaho Stampede. Tickets available at Gorham Recreation are $6. Gorham Recreation Department can be reached at 222-1630.
The Expo is home court for the Maine Red Claws, an NBA Development League team.
