The class, which is open to the public, will be co-taught by artist Kat Gillies and singer-songwriter Moriah Salter, both of whom teach part time at Cricket Hunt.
Salter said that this integrative series, inspired by the Northern Lights, is intended to “brighten up the winter.”
Gillies, who worked with Salter and school director Michele Gilbody to create the class, develops and implements curriculum for children throughout New England.Locally, she directs summer art classes and coordinates other school and nonprofit programs.
“Classes will focus on various visual art mediums, dance and song,” states a news release. “Children will leave the class with new friends, a cohesive portfolio and delightful memories of this unique experience.”
Beginning this week, the series will be held every Saturday through Feb. 11. The cost for all six weeks is $185 per child.
The registration deadline is today. There must be a minimum of 10 students per class to run the program.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
