BOWDOINHAM — A 27-year-old Bowdoinham man was arrested on Christmas morning after allegedly stealing copper and metal from another Bowdoinham residence days before.
Darrell Wilson, 27, of 786 Carding Machine Road, Bowdoinham, was arrested at his home just after 10 a.m. Sunday, Chief Deputy Brett Strout of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Office said today.
Officers allegedly caught Wilson with the copper piping and well pumps from the farmhouse on Bay Road on Friday, Strout said, but couldn’t initially prove that the items were stolen.
“ Shortly thereafter, we received a call from the owner of the property stating the farmhouse had been entered, and that copper piping and well pumps had been stolen,” he said. “She was able to identify ( the items) from photographs.”
Wilson was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, and held on $ 2,500 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in West Bath Superior court on Feb. 25.
