WATERVILLE ( AP) — Members of a Maine community are praying for a missing toddler.
WCSH-TV reports that on Christmas Day members of the First Baptist Church in Waterville took time to pray for Ayla Reynolds and police who are searching for her.
Waterville police said Sunday that the investigation is ongoing into the disappearance of the 20-month-old girl who was reported missing by her father on Dec. 16.
Justin DiPietro told police he last saw his daughter when he put her to bed more than a week ago, but that she wasn’t there the following morning.
Ayla’s mother, Trista Reynolds, says she remains hopeful her daughter will be found safe.
Hundreds of people have searched for the toddler. Police say they have received hundreds of tips.
