Mary Ellen Deschenes, of MSC, said Maine has a long and rich history of providing top quality summer camps going back more than 100 years.

“Thousands of school age children come to summer camp in Maine each year from all over the world. Maine’s natural beauty makes it the ideal place for kids to attend summer camp. Each video was fantastic. They captured everything that campers have come to love so much when they come to camp in Maine,” she said.

All entries in the “Letters from Camp” contest were reviewed by a special panel of guest judges, including Jim Cole, a member of the fullservice media production company, Gum Spirits Productions based in Portland, Maine. Cole has been a judge for the Maine Student Film and Video Festival for five years.

“There were a lot of great entries to choose from, but the shooting, editing and creativity of ‘ We Love…’ and ‘Letters from Maine’ set them apart from the others. Most of all, they were fun to watch,” added Cole.

For winning the “Letters from Camp” contest, all contestants will receive commemorative certificates and gift cards to Amazon.com. Also, the winning videos will be used as part of Maine Summer Camps’ ongoing marketing efforts.
