To the editor:
Gov. Paul LePage’s budget cuts to minimize health benefits to Maine residents are going to affect a large population that depends on these benefits to stay alive.
The stress that’s going to be on the Department of Health and Human Services and social service agencies in this state will be paramount.
This is a form of genocide. We have to stop this from happening. Write, email or go to Augusta to voice your opinion or go to support the people who oppose this limitation of health benefits for some of our Maine people who truly need it.
This is not good, folks, and it makes me sick to think of the outcome that might just happen.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
