Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class ALEXANDER L. SAINDON, son of Kerstin Palmer of Lisbon Falls and Stephens Saindon of Richmond, recently received a citation for outstanding performance of his duties while serving aboard USS Helena (SSN 725), Naval Station Norfolk, Va.
“Saindon consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner,” a Hometown News Service release states. “As a junior member of the Navigation Division, he was key to restoration of divisional spaces, easing transition back onboard the submarine.”
Saindon, a 2008 graduate of Brunswick High School, joined the Navy in November 2009.
Army Reserve Pfc. BRANDON BROOKS-MATT graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
Brooks– Matt studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, field maneuvers and tactics.
Brooks- Matt earned distinction as an honor graduate and was recently promoted to private first class.
A 2011 graduate of Brunswick High School, he is the son of Diane Brooks of Durham.
