LIMERICK artist Bill Housley’s Christmas ornament made of turned wood sea urchins is one of several art pieces on view at the first Invitational Ornament Show at Markings Gallery on Front Street in Bath. Artists from around the state submitted work. Among the local participants are Jane Page Conway of Bowdoinham, Peter Asselyn of Durham and Heather Gelwick of Harpswell. Their pieces will be available to view and purchase throughout December. “We encourage the public to come and tell us their favorite, as the artist receiving the most comments will win a $100 gift certificate to the gallery,” a release from the gallery states. The gallery at 50 Front St. is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 443-1499.
