BRUNSWICK
Jan Conway, a social worker at Mid Coast Hospital, will lead a discussion titled “Holiday Stress and You” from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. today at People Plus, 35 Union St.
“Many people experience a particular kind of stress in December,” a People Plus release states. “The essence of the season places a sense of responsibility to reach out to and reciprocate equitably with many in our lives. This effort can be huge and sorting through one’s resources and capacities (time, energy, money) is a daunting task. This is also a time when some people struggle with the loss of important people in their lives whether through death or emotional/ geographical distance.”
Participation is free and open to the public. To sign up, call People Plus at 729-0757.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
