HARPSWELL
The School Administrative District 75 board of directors is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. today at Harpswell Community School on Mountain Road.
Board members will be served dinner at 5:30 p.m., and enjoy a “brief musical interlude,” as the meal is served.
The business meeting will start with a presentation by Kerry Bailey, principal of Harpswell Community School.
Following several acknowledgments, the school board will consider three new business items related to policies. It will consider a first reading of the proposed “Student/Parent Fundraising Activities” policy and a first reading of the proposed policy regarding staff gifts and solicitations.
The board also will consider eliminating its existing “Student Gifts and Solicitation of Funds” policy.
The board’s facilities committee, policy committee, adult education advisory committee and negotiating committee are scheduled to report today.
Superintendent Brad Smith’s report will address the Nov. 17 board workshop on the Maine Technology Learning Initiative and, if available, an update on Navy property intended to be transferred to the school district.

It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
