Halcyon Yarn will collect hand-knit or crocheted hats, mittens, cowls and scarves for children ages 4 to 12 years old through Dec. 17 as part of its annual Caps for Kids campaign.
The items will be distributed on Dec. 19 to students in local schools and Head Start programs, as well as at Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program in Brunswick, according to a release from Halcyon.
Items may be dropped off during regular business hours at 12 School St.

“It only takes a weekend to knit up a warm cozy hat, so join us if you can spare a little time and yarn, and be a part of this wonderful cause,” a release from the store states.
