BRUNSWICK
The Brunswick Downtown Association (BDA) will host its Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 7 p. m. Thursday at Curtis Memorial Library.
Featured auction items will include works of art, tickets to professional sporting events, vacation rentals, boat cruises, a ride in a Cessna 183, a three-hour kayak tour and picnic, and gifts from local businesses.
Local musicians Tamora Goltz and David Stimson will provide seasonal and traditional Irish music, and complimentary refreshments will be provided by local restaurants and BDA board members.
Proceeds from the auction will assist the BDA in its efforts to support improvement projects, coordinate public programs and organize special events. The BDA states its mission as promoting a strong, vibrant downtown Brunswick.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
