BOWDOINHAM
Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department deputies responded to three crashes in Bowdoinham since Wednesday’s snowfall.
At 8: 46 a. m. Sunday, a deputy was dispatched to a crash near the airport on Route 24. Chief Deputy Brett Strout said a 2009 Subaru driven by Michael Palmer, 36, of 96 Ridge Road, slowed down to make a turn onto Piper Landing Lane. A 2000 Chevrolet driven by Alton Thompson Jr., 26, of 12 D Booker St., Lisbon Falls, collided with the Subaru as Palmer attempted to turn.
The deputy’s report gave no indication that either driver suffered injury as a result of the collision.
A crash on Fisher Road in the area of Dunn Farm Road was reported at 5:45 p.m. Friday. Strout said a 1996 Jeep Cherokee driven by Andy Desjardins, 48, got caught in a rut of snow, went off the road and hit a utility pole on Fisher Road. Desjardins was transported to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. Strout said Desjardins’ wife was in the vehicle but did not require hospitalization.
Damage to the pole knocked out power to some nearby Central Maine Power customers. A CMP crew replaced the pole and restored electricity, Strout said.
A third incident requiring response from the sheriff ’s department was reported at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday. Strout said Rebecca Coffill, 35, of 2 Main St., Apt. 6, Richmond, rolled her car over. She was not injured, Strout said.
However, a deputy arrested Coffill on a charge of operating under the influence.
