BRUNSWICK — An anonymous donor has pledged a $100,000 matching gift challenge for The Theater Project’s 40th anniversary.
Theater Project executive director Wendy Poole, artistic director Al Miller and the nonprofit organization’s board will work with fundraiser Alicia J. Nichols to meet the goal.
“We are so honored that someone believes so much in what we do that they want to help make sure we are here for another 40 years,” Poole said in a release announcing the matching grant challenge. “We know we have our work cut out for us but we know we can do it, and that the community believes in us too.”
The Theater Projects has raised close to $13,000 in donations and pledges since September, the release states.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
