Brazier seeks marrow donor
Dianne Brazier, who owns and operates the well-known Brazier’s Barber Shop in Westbrook, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and is in desperate need of a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
The National Marrow Donor Program “Be The Match” is holding a drive 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the American Legion Post 197, 300 Conant St. (Route 25), in Westbrook.
Brazier’s son-in-law, Westbrook Police Officer Al Leblanc, said this week that a cheek swab is all that is necessary to determine a match.
Someone in Westbrook could be the one to save the life of Brazier or one of the thousands of patients in need of a bone marrow transplant.
Brazier is a 10-year breast cancer survivor.
Leblanc said another barber has been hired to work in the barbershop.
Those wishing to make a monetary donation to help Brazier should contact her daughter, Melissa Leblanc, at 650-6491.
