Veterans Day observance

American Legion Post 62 will mark Veterans Day with a ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at the Veterans Monument in Riverbank Park on Main Street.

Past post commander Ed Senechal will be the emcee and Mayor Colleen Hilton will deliver a proclamation. A soloist, Junie Dugas, will sing patriotic songs in the observance.

Woman’s club to hear Hilton

Mayor Colleen Hilton will speak at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, when Westbrook Woman’s Club meets in Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St. Hilton, chief executive officer of VNA Home Health and Hospice in South Portland, will provide information on shingles.

Light refreshments will be served.

WHS class of ’77 plans reunion

Westbrook High School class of 1977 is planning its 35th reunion for Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, 7-11 p.m., at Westbrook Memorial Post 197, Route 25, Westbrook. Reservations will be required.

Book talk circle

The Book Talk Circle will meet 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St. The group will discuss “The Elegance of the Hedgehog,” by Muriel Barbery.
