BIDDEFORD — In the race for Biddeford mayor, state Rep. Alan Casavant has declared victory over incumbent Mayor Joanne Twomey, based on early ward results showing he received 62 percent of the vote.

According to unofficial results released by City Clerk Carmen Morris, Casavant received 4,165 votes to Twomey’s 2,504, with 30 write-ins.for other candidates.
