CUMBERLAND — Abbey Leonardi, a senior at Kennebunk, made her last high school race in Maine one for the record books Saturday, winning an unprecedented fourth straight Class A cross country title by more than half a minute at Twin Brook Recreation Area.

The only other high school athlete with four cross country titles is Maranacook graduate Scott Roberts, who won each Class B title from 1982 to 1985.

Leonardi won the 5k race in 18:27.19. Camden Hills sophomore Brittany Bowman won the Class B title in 19:12.19 and Carsyn Koch Class C in 20:17.71.

Cheverus (A), Mount Desert Island (B) and Merriconeag (C) won team titles. All three teams qualified for the New England meet Nov. 12 in Rhode Island, along with Massabesic, Mount Ararat and Camden Hills.

For boys, Nick Morris of Scarborough (A), Silas Eastman of Fryeburg Academy (B) and Matt McClintock of Madison (C) won individual state titles, with McClintock’s 15:52.97 the day’s fastest time.

Scarborough, Falmouth and North Yarmouth Academy won team titles.

Greely, Caribou and York also qualified for New Englands.
