FALMOUTH — The public is invited to a community celebration and open house at the new $37.7 million Falmouth Elementary School on Saturday.

A dedication ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. and guided tours will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Self-guided walk-throughs are encouraged as well. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria by the Falmouth Education Foundation.

Since opening last week, the new school has enrolled 890 students in all-day kindergarten through Grade 5. It also has an on-site child-care facility for students and staff that is paid for by the participants.

The green-designed school features a geothermal heating and cooling system, solar hot water panels and a wood-chip boiler plant that will be open for visits during Saturday’s open house.
