Ben Bell, Sanford, junior: Bell attends Sanford Christian Academy, but plays for the Redskins and at Sanford Country Club, where he carries a 1-handicap.
Will Bucklin, Falmouth, senior: The Yachtsmen’s top returning player from last year’s state Class B champs. He averaged 38 strokes for nine holes during the preseason.
Brad Myers, Bonny Eagle, senior: Myers has been the No. 1 player for the Scots for the last two years. He regularly shoots in the mid-to-high 30s in matches.
Craig Decato, York, senior: A four-year standout, Decato won the Western Maine Conference individual title last year. He finished fourth in the state Class B tournament.
Dillon Dunbar, Thornton Academy, senior: Dunbar finished fifth in last season’s state individual tournament. He finished sixth in the SMAA qualifier to the state tournament. He had a 38.7 average last year.
Mike Haas-Zanghi, Cheverus, senior: He enters the season as the Stags’ No. 1 player after playing second– and third–man last season. He’s part of a balanced team that could contend.
Jordan Jones, Wiscasset, senior: Jones tied for second in the Class C individual tournament with a 75. He had a 37-stroke average and was named All-State.
Reese McFarlane, Cape Elizabeth, freshman: McFarlane is the Capers’ No. 1 player. He has already won four Maine Junior titles, two in 12-and-under and two in 13-14. He shot 68 this summer at Purpoodock Club, the team’s home course.
Kyle Megathlin, Greely, junior: Megathlin starts his second year as the Rangers’ No. 1 player. He has continued to improve as evidenced by his low scores in tournaments this summer.
Nathan Roop, Gorham, junior: Roop is a returning starter on the Rams’ Class A state champions. He consistently breaks 40 for nine holes. Slated to play No. 1 or 2 for Gorham.
