WINDHAM – An educational technician at a New Gloucester school has been arrested in connection with a Windham burglary, Windham police said Tuesday.
Darren M. Shane, 33, of 660 Gray Road, Windham, is charged with burglary and theft. Police said he broke into a residence at 31 Collingwood Circle, Windham, on Aug. 15, while the homeowners were away on vacation.
Police have recovered most of the stolen items, including watches and camera equipment. Neighbors helped identify suspects, police said.
Shane was transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where he made bail. The case remains under investigation and other arrests are possible.
Shane is employed as an education technician with the Collaborative School in New Gloucester.
