Roger is a neutered male beagle-terrier mix, about 2 years old, who weighs 15 to 20 pounds. Roger was brought to rescue after a seizure of dogs from a cruelty case. He is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly and gets along with other dogs.
Stella is a spayed, female beagle, about 5 years old, who came to Tall Tails Beagle Rescue from Cape Ann Animal Aid in Massachusetts. Stella gets along well with other dogs and loves people. As is the case sometimes with beagles, Stella can be a little strong-willed, and she needs a confident human to be her new guardian.
Animal Welfare Society
The following animals are available for adoption from the Animal Welfare Society in West Kennebunk.
The Animal Welfare Society recently started a program providing an adoption fee of $125 for adult dogs who have been at the shelter for longer than three weeks.
Ava is quite the bargain, as she’s practically two dogs in one. On one side, she’s an incredibly active and playful gal. She loves getting lots of playtime with people, toys and particularly with other dogs. When this pit bull mix gets going, her goofy play style will make you laugh. On the other side, this gal is a gentle, affectionate companion. She may play a lot, but she tires easily and is then ready to relax.
Mr. Kitty, a gorgeous 8-year-old cat, is, above all else, fluffy and furry. You can thank his Maine Coon mixed heritage for that. Once you start petting him, you won’t want to stop. He won’t mind – in fact, there’s nothing he enjoys more than some quality petting time with his people. He’ll even follow you around to entice you into petting him more.
