Intro to teaching yoga
There will be an orientation and informational meeting Thursday for people interested in becoming a yoga teacher. The meeting will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Bhava Yoga School, 500 Forest Ave. Organizers will give an overview of its 200-hour yoga teacher training.

Celebration of reading
The Scarborough Public Library is holding a celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday for the hundreds of kids who participated in its summer reading program, “One World, Many Stories.” The free event will include awards of reading certificates and prizes for students who completed the program. Reading from ‘The Smile’
Nicholas Chanese will read from his book “The Smile” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St. Chanese graduated from Westbrook High School in 1998. He will read from his novel and give a talk on being a writer. Copies of his book will be for sale after the program.
