CSM Herman J. Boudreau, 91, of Brunswick, was recently honored by the state of Maine for his service in the 103rd Infantry Regiment, Maine Army National Guard during World War II. Boudreau enlisted in 1940 and served until 1945. He was awarded the Silver Star Medal, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, American Defense Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars for Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons and New Guinea campaigns. He served in the Maine Army National Guard until 1968 as the unit’s first command sergeant major.

Navy Seaman Holli L. Hutchins completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. She is the daughter of Donna and stepdaughter of Robert Brown of Lyman and is a 2001 graduate of Massabesic High School, Waterboro.

Marine Corps Pfc. Carl A. Hill Jr., son of Carl Hill Sr. of Arundel, has completed the Basic Engineer Equipment Electrical Systems Technician course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeune, N. C. Hill is a 2009 graduate of Kennebunk High School and joined the Marine Corps in September.
