WINDHAM — A Windham Fire Department vehicle was involved in a car accident this afternoon, but officials are not saying yet whether a firefighter was injured.

A dispatcher for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said one person had to be transported to a local hospital. The crash took place on Route 302 around 4 p.m.

The dispatcher said the chief deputy’s car was involved in a two-car collision. The car was responding to the report of a person who had suffered a gunshot wound to the foot.

No other details are available at this time.
